Kidz In The Kitchen Registration Package
Classes will be every Wednesday 5-7 PM (Jan 19 to Mar 9) with make up dates due to snow days or inclement weather where possible. The program will be done over Zoom, a unique Zoom link will be sent out day of each week around 4 pm. Should you miss a class, all classes are recorded via Zoom if you would like to participate another day, supplies can be provided as well!
rSonya will provide cooking instruction and facilitate the class via Zoom video with Ryan as well to assist. We go through the activity workbook doing one or two worksheets and a fun activity prior to cooking. We go through the recipe step by step together as a group from assembling everything they need to meal completion. Sonya is also cooking the meals from home. Meals are made almost entirely from scratch and most meals should yield enough servings for the entire family! Sonya and Ryan are there to guide and answer any questions kids and parents have. One or more parents are asked to be in the kitchen while your child is cooking to help supervise. For the final class, we do a special recipe and all kids receive a certificate of accomplishment. Parents can request a receipt as well.
Parents are contacted in advance of each class to connect on supplies needed for their kits for the upcoming recipe. We provide any or all supplies you need on a weekly basis, adapting to dietary or allergy considerations as well. So if you know you have flour, eggs, and milk at home, but need vegetables and broth, please let us know! Even if you need everything, we are happy to provide supplies. We will email everyone a list of equipment needed for each recipe prior to the start of the program (i.e. pots, pans, etc)
We provide a workbook duotang for participants to do activities like: learning terms, kitchen safety, units, budgeting, and fun game sheets. Recipes are provided at the start of the program, digital and physical copies are provided in the workbook
