Job Title: Summer Camp Counsellor, $16 per hour gross, plus 4% for 37.5 hours weekly / 7 hours a day
Contract: Summer Student Full Time (17 to 30 years)
Duration: June 27 to September 2, 2022
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Responsible for delivery of and leading recreation, arts, aquatics or sports programming for children and youth during the summer months. The programs may take place indoors, outdoors on location or a variety of locations in and around Carleton Place. They must also supervise volunteers and ensure participants have a safe and enjoyable camp experience.
Education & Experience:
High School Graduate
Minimum of four (4) months but less than eight (8) months of related experience is preferred.
Standard First Aid, CPR C + AED
Valid police record clearance with vulnerable sector check no less than six (6) months, or acquire upon
hiring. Additional qualifications in related fields is an asset (i.e. High Five, Babysitting, ECE, NCCP,
Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment
Strong interpersonal communication, organization, leadership and activity planning skills
Must be able to relate to children and be a good role model
Must be tactful, kind, patient, calm under pressure, creative, resourceful, reliable, trustworthy, flexible, creative, and enthusiastic.
